| | | | 1960s Japan TT Tin Friction US Army Truck(Reference #4-3-48) This tinplate friction US Army truck measures 8.25" long and is in generally good condition. It has four rubber wheels and, although the wheelbase looks rather odd, it is completely original because there are no holes, slots or tabs where any additional axle box and wheels could fit. The US Army canopy is also original and comprises green coloured paper inside a clear plastic sheet to simulate a canvas hood. The Japanese manufacturer TT made the truck, as indicated by the separate winged crests on each door. The only other feature of note is the printed rear number plate which reads A-2557. The truck suffers from very slight scuffing, but is in otherwise very good condition for its age. (#) US$36.00

| 1950s UK Tri-ang Minic Tin W/U Jeep(Reference #6-12-85) This is the smaller version of the two tinplate jeeps made by Tri-ang of England in the 1950s. It measures 3" long, has black plastic wheels, and a working wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided). Although it is an attractive model, it is only in fair to good condition, and does need some restoration. The points needing attention are a missing steering wheel, a broken windscreen frame, and the absence of a spare tyre from the back. In all other respects though, this is a well-realised model of a much loved vehicle. (#) US$44.00

| | 1950s West German Arnold Tin W/U Tank(Reference #04-5-01at) Made by Arnold of Western Germany in the 1950s, this tinplate and wind-up tank measures 5.5" tall. Wind it up (but please note that a key is not provided), and the tank moves forward at a realistic lumbering pace, and will even climb over small obstacles. As is often the case with Arnold toys, the tank would once have sparked. The sparking mechanism no longer functions, but this could possibly be remedied by the insertion of a new flint. The tank is in very good condition overall; even its rubber tracks are still intact. However, the main barrel of the gun is a metal replacement for the original plastic one. In our view, this is an improvement as the original barrel on this tank almost always goes brittle with age and therefore breaks. There is also minor print loss to the rear corners of the turret. | 1930s Japanese Tin W/U Sparking Armoured Car(Reference #7-6-21) Made in Japan pre-WWII, this tinplate and wind-up camouflaged armoured car has a sparking flint and a rotating turret. Measuring 5.25" long, the armoured car is in full working order, but please note that a key is not supplied. The toy is in very good condition for its age: there is just one very small area of discoloration above the window. (#) US$300.00
