| | | 1950s UK Brimtoy Diecast/Tin W/U Bedford Wrecker Truck(Reference #4-12-116) Made by Brimtoy of England as part of its Pocketoy range, this is a very early example of this toy as it has a diecast chassis, rather than a plastic one. Measuring 3.5" long, the truck has a fully functioning wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided), and a winding handle for the winch. There are some paint chips to the diecast chassis, and the towing string needs to be replaced, but there are no other defects to report. (#) US$50.00

| | 1950s English Wells Pocketoy Tin W/U Removal Van(Reference #01-6-6x) Made by Wells of England as part of its Pocketoy range, this tinplate removal van has a fully functioning wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided). Measuring 4" long, the toy is clearly marked with the Wells trademark as well as the legend 'MADE IN GT BRITAIN'. | 1960s Japanese Commercial Vehicles in Retailer's Box(Reference #03-11-13) This delightful set of 12 tinplate and plastic push along commercial vehicles is still complete in the original retailer's box. Measuring 11.25 inches x 7.25 inches, the box is brightly lithographed and is marked with the manufacturer's mark of an Indian chief's head. The box is in very good condition; even the stand-up flap on the lid has yet to be pressed out. The vans each measure 4 inches long, have a plastic cab, lithographed back, and tinplate base. They are all different and feature lithography relating to a different sales item. These are musical instruments, toys and dolls, bread, milk, sporting goods, birds, puppies, fresh fruit, flowers, ice cream, watches, and cakes. The vans are all in very good condition and would make a fantastic display of 1960s Japanese tinplate toy manufacture - in or out of the box. (#) US$ 200.00

| | 1960s Airfix Plastic Ice Cream Tricycle(Reference #6-6-36h)
This boxed ice cream tricycle measures 4" x 1.5" and is an accurate replica of a stop me and buy one ice cream tricycle. It has wheels and pedals that move, and should have two separate lids. Sadly, these are now missing. Airfix - the English manufacturer of plastic kits - made this item and it is marked accordingly on both the toy and the box. Apart from the missing lids and some minor discoloration, this toy is in very good condition. The box though has suffered somewhat over the years; it lacks two end flaps, and suffers from crushing, creasing, taping and paper loss. However, this is still an interesting item of ice cream memorabilia as well as a fascinating example of the range of toys made by one of England's premier plastics manufacturer.
