1920s German Boxed Indoor Croquet Set(Reference #7-6-62)
This set of indoor croquet is complete and is still contained in its original cardboard box with basket weave printing (11" x 3.5"). The contents comprise four wooden mallets of different colours, four wooden balls of matching colours to the mallets, two wooden starting pins, eight wire hoops, and an instruction leaflet. There are no defects to report to the contents; the box suffers from some taping, scuffing and staining. This is an attractively presented set that bears witness to the popularity of the first outdoor sport that could be played by both sexes on an equal footing and has been an Olympic sport since 1900. 1960s French Vinyl Squeaker Toy of a Girl Tennis Player 1960s French Vinyl Squeaker Toy of a Girl Tennis Player(Reference #5-7-49)
Made in France in the 1960s, this delightful vinyl squeaker toy of a girl tennis player stands 8.5" tall. She is dressed in a typical pleated mini-dress of the period, and holds her racquet demurely in front of her. She is in very good condition for her age; the only slight defects to report are slight paint loss and the fact that the squeaker no longer works. However, if you're looking for an unusual piece of tennis memorabilia, then look no further. (WR) US$24.00

1950s Boxed English Clock Golf Game(Reference #8-6-36)
Made by Northwood Products of England, this clock golf game is in mint and boxed condition and has clearly never been played. The game consists of 12 white plastic Roman numerals, a plastic hole tin, a metal red flag, and a set of rules. After marking out a circle approximately seven yards in diameter on the lawn, you place the numerals round the outer edge of the circle. Using the hole tin, you then dig a hole somewhere in the circle, but not in the centre. Each player has to put from the figures in sequence to the hole. Where applicable, the rules of golf apply. There is slight scuffing, taping, and tearing to the box, but the game is in otherwise absolutely mint condition.

Early 20th Century Wooden Spring-Action Boxing Toy Early 20th Century Wooden Spring-Action Boxing Toy(Reference #04-5-104)
This delightful and unusual boxing novelty toy has recently been released from an attic where it was put away in an Edwardian child's toy box. It was probably made in England, and is so crudely made that it has a charm all its own. Measuring 4.75" x 4", the toy is made entirely of wood and is operated by a spring-action lever in the middle of the base which causes the two boxers to lunge forward. As their heads almost collide, and their jointed arms swing backwards and forwards, the effect is realistic in the extreme. The toy undoubtedly reflects the popularity of boxing at this period. As the two opponents are wearing boxing gloves, it dates from after 1867 when boxing replaced bare-knuckle pugilism largely as a result of John Chamberlain devising the first set of rules governing the sport. The toy is in exceptional condition for its age; apart from some age-related marking and scuffing which is much more pronounced on one side than the other, there are absolutely no defects to report. If boxing-related toys or memorabilia make your heart race, then don't miss this opportunity to acquire this most unusual item. (#) US$70.00

1930 German Hudora Ice Skates Box(Reference #84-93a)
Here is an unusual item for the ice skating aficionados amongst you, an empty box for a pair of 1930s ice skates. The box once contained a pair of HUDORA Ice Skates No 151 D.R.Patent, and is illustrated with photographs of ice dancers, ice hockey, and ice skating. The box measures 12 by 3.5 by 2.25 inches, and is in reasonable condition, apart from age related wear to the edges and corners, and inevitably rusty staples. If you collect ice skating antiques, and just happen to have a pair of pre-war HUDORA ice skates, then here is a chance to re-unite them with a box. (WR) US$20.00

1924 UK The Boy's Friend Book of Football 1924 UK The Boy's Friend Book of Football(Reference #9-9-90)
This 20 page booklet was presented free with the BOY'S FRIEND comic for the week ending 6 December, 1924. It measures 7 by 5.25 inches, and is in good condition for its age, apart from where the staples have rusted in the centre seam (slight staining). The booklet is extensively illustrated with black and white drawings and photographs throughout. To give some idea of the reading within, the contents are: The Footballer's Life in Hard Cash; Captains of the Clubs; Boys in the Big Game; Qualities for Every Place on the Field by SAM HARDY; The Men who get the Goals (a splendid two-page set of photographs of sharp - shooting forwards); The Story of the Cup; How I Started Football by GEORGE WILSON & FRED KEENOR; Why Scotland Wins! 1960s W/U Composition Bear Skier(Reference #7-5-46)
Possibly made in the former Soviet Union in the 1960s, this unusual bear skier has a composition body, wind-up mechanism and plastic skis. The bear measures 8" high and is 6.5" long from front to back. He has a very cute and appealing painted face and is warmly dressed in brown trousers and flowery top. When wound (but please note that a key is not supplied), he vibrates around in a circle reminiscent of a novice skier on very thin ice! (250 #) US$160.00

1930s English Cricket Card Game 1930s English Cricket Card Game(Reference #5-11-64)
Published by Kum-Bak Sports, Toys and Games of London in the 1930s, this game of 'Run-It-Out' is complete with its 75 cards and instruction leaflet. It can be played by one, two or four players and is based on the rules of real-life cricket. The cards are in generally very good condition for their age and feature the most delightful graphics. The box (7.75" x 4") has not fared as well over the years and now suffers from scuffing, marking and minor paper loss. It is, however, still complete and intact.

1950s Boxed Marx B/O Baseball Pitching Game(Reference #5-0-77)
This battery-operated 'pitch'em -catch'em' game has the most glorious graphics of baseball players on and off the pitch. Made by Marx in the 1950s, it pitches three balls out in turn at about six second intervals. Still in full working order, it has, sadly, lost its balls. However, the tinplate pitcher is in absolutely excellent condition, say 9.5 out of 10. There are just two tiny surface scratches on the back panel. The box is in less good condition. It lacks two end flaps, one of the remaining ones is detached, and the box is generally worn, torn, taped and scuffed. US$40.00

Price: £20.00

1970s English Boxed Golf Game 1970s English Boxed Golf Game(Reference #85-188)
Made by Scott and Webb of England in the 1970s, the box promises that this is: 'a golf game for the whole family. Fascinating, tense and exciting even for non-golfers. Can be played by one to four players. Capture the thrills of big golf and play like the professionals'. The game comprises a board (35" x 20") that represents the course, cards representing clubs and hazards, coloured markers that take the place of the golf ball, three scoring cards (one is presumed missing), and a comprehensive instruction sheet. Two circuits of the board comprise the full18-hole course. This game of 'Fore' is in good condition and appears to have hardly been played. There is just minor scuffing to the board, and some scuffing and tearing to the box. If you're frustrated at not being able to get out on the fairway, then this is the game for you. (WR) US$24.00
