Pair of Pre-War Suede Doll's Shoes Pair of Pre-War Suede Doll's Shoes(Reference #5-9-470)
This lovely pair of vintage doll's shoes are made of suede and have clearly never been used as they are still tied together with the original cotton. The shoes measure almost 2.5" long and are beautifully stitched. The only minor defect to report is that one of the shoes lacks almost all of the blue decoration to the front. However, they would still grace a vintage doll of the appropriate size. (WR) US$20.00

1953 30th Anniversary Reader's Digest Miniature.(Reference #5-9-468)
Issued in March 1953 to commemorate 30 years of publication, this miniature (2" x 1.5") edition of Reader's Digest is perfect in every respect. The print on the left-hand pages is too small to read with the naked eye, but the print on the right-hand pages gives you the whole story of the magazine: 'it is the most widely read magazine in the world, printed in 12 languages, bought by over 17.5 million people every month' and so on. There is slight staining round the staples, one crease, and very minor scuffing to the edges but, overall, this miniature publication is in very good order. (#) US$20.00

1940s English Steel Doll's Pushchair(Reference #02-10-13p)
Probably made in England in the immediate post-war period, this delightful doll's pushchair is made of blue steel tubing, and has a wooden seat covered in American cloth style material. It measures 12" long by 10" wide by 22" high, and the handle folds down for easier transportation. The pushchair has spoked wheels with rubber tyres; one of the wheels lacks its hub cap. The chair is structurally sound but, as can be seen from the picture, the frame does suffer from some surface rusting and scratching. This attractive item could either be restored to its former glory or could be used as is to display a doll or bear of the appropriate size. The pushchair is heavy, so is probably only suitable for despatch within the UK. Alternatively, it could be collected from one of our London addresses. (WR) US$20.00

They measure approximately 3.75" long and are all marked with a standing bear in an oval, apart from the odd spoon which is marked with a leaf symbol. The odd spoon is also the only utensil not to be marked both GERMANY and ALUMINIUM. The cutlery is in very acceptable condition for its age, but does suffer from age-related scuffing and marking. 1930s Boxed Japanese Lusterware Child's China Tea Set 1930s Boxed Japanese Lusterware Child's China Tea Set(Reference #02-6-6ts)
Probably made in Japan in the immediate pre-war period, this LITTLE HOSTESS SET is still contained in its original box (10" x 12"). The set comprises a teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, four plates, four cups, and three saucers, one of which is broken and two of which have a chip to the edge. However, the saucers are probably the most dispensable part of the set, so this is not that serious. Both the teapot (3.5" high) and the sugar bowl (2.5" high) are complete with their lids and, apart from the saucers, the set is in very good condition. It is marked on the bottom with a K in a diamond with rays coming out of it, and what looks like ADEL, JAPAN underneath. The set is attractively moulded in deep, gold lusterware, and is decorated with an oriental style floral pattern in green, white and black. The original cardboard box is also very attractive as it is decorated with colourful drawings of contemporary toys including a zeppelin, a clown, a doll, an elephant and a rabbit on wheels, and a tea set. It suffers from minor scuffing and tearing, but is in pretty good shape for its age. Overall, this is an absolutely delightful set that would grace any collection either of dolls' accessories or of miniature china. (WR) US$50.00

1950s German Baby Doll Wickerwork Cradle 1950s German Baby Doll Wickerwork Cradle(Reference #01-12-07p)
This delightful wickerwork cradle measures 5" long and 4" high, and is believed to have been made in Germany in the 1950s. It is in very good condition, and is just waiting for a new baby doll occupant. This could be a very useful item, if you happen to have a doll of just the right size. (WR) US$20.00

1940s Japanese Boxed 17 Piece Lustreware Tea Set(Reference #9-12-04q)
This charming porcelain tea set, from an unknown maker, was most probably made in Japan in the immediate post-war period. It depicts a simple but delightful picture of a little girl skipping, which is hand painted on a lustreware glaze. The set comprises: four cups, four saucers, four plates, a milk jug, a sugar bowl with lid, and a teapot (3.25" high) with lid. All the pieces are undamaged, except for some wear to the background design on the plates. The design is apparently copied from a full size tea service, presumably also made by the same manufacturer. The bright primary colours show signs of having been influenced by the work of Clarice Cliffe, as orange, blue, green and yellow all feature frequently in her work. All the pieces (except the lids),are stamped on the base with the words "Golden Series reg FOREIGN". The box, which was obviously intended for the Christmas market, is worn, torn, and grubby, with tape repairs to two sides of the lid. However, it is the original box, as can be seen from the cut-outs for the contents, in both the box base and the lid. This really is a lovely tea set, which deserves to be on permanent display in a suitable collection. (WR) US$58.00

MIP Strawberry Shortcake Berry Outfits (2) MIP Strawberry Shortcake Berry Outfits (2)(Reference #9-12-04aa)
These two Strawberry Shortcake Berry Wear outfits date from 1980 and are mint and unused in their original packaging. As each set contains two outfits, there are four outfits in total. These are Berry Quick jogging outfit, Berry Pretty party dress, Berry Sunny garden outfit, and Berry Patch sun suit set. Made in Hong Kong for Palitoy in England, the sets are clearly marked with the trademarks of CPG Products Corp and the American Greetings Corporation. Each cardboard backing card measures 9" x 12" and is in absolutely excellent condition, as are the contents. The only slight defect to report is that one of the sets has two black Velcro strips stuck across it, presumably to hold it in place in a shop display. These outfits would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Strawberry Shortcake items. (TR) US$20.00

1900s German Tinplate Doll's Washstand(Reference #7-10-113a)
Although unmarked, this large-scale tinplate washstand is believed to have been made in Germany around the turn of the last century. The washstand measures 8.25" high, and is in generally good condition, apart from some slight rust staining mainly to the front. The washstand has a most attractive art nouveau floral motif to the back and front of the stand, which is unfortunately somewhat faded though still visible. There is also a very pleasing marbling effect to the horizontal surfaces. If you have a large size dolls house or need a washing accessory for a doll, then this could well be just the thing. (WR) US$30.00

1900s Toy Smoothing Iron with Heating Block 1900s Toy Smoothing Iron with Heating Block(Reference #01-12-07c)
Made of metal, this 4" long smoothing iron has an opening end section from which you can extract the cast iron heating block. This is designed to be heated in an oven, extracted with a pair of tongs, and then replaced in the interior of the iron. Thus heated, the iron could be used to press dolls' clothes in imitation of the adult world. Apart from some scuffing, pitting and slight denting, there are no defects to report to the iron. Also included is a tinplate iron stand; this may or may not be original to the iron. Measuring 3.75" long, it has the letters AIM in the middle and has lost most of its original black paint. Together, these two items would make the most delightful addition to any collection of doll's miniatures or toy irons. (225 *) US$36.00

1930s German Doll's Porcelain Dinner Service(Reference #7-3-278)
This unusual and exquisite doll's dinner service is in the style of Dresden and comprises four dinner plates, four deeper bowls, a round platter meat dish, a round platter deeper bowl (possibly a vegetable dish), an extremely elegant round, double-handled, covered tureen and a shapely sauce or gravy boat. The plates and bowls measure just under 4" across and the serving dishes measure approximately 4¾" across. The tureen stands about 4½" high and measures 4½" across from handle to handle. The sauce boat is about 2" high at the top of its handle and is about 4½" long by 1½" deep. The transfer designs are in single colour of varying stages of flowers opening. The flowers could be hellebores or anemones and are in a delightful shade of dark orange to sepia. The rims and finishing lines are all hand painted. There are two small chips to the rim of the tureen and a number of small chips around the edge of the tureen lid. Otherwise the set is in beautiful condition and is made of good quality porcelain. It was probably made in Germany in the 1930s and exported to England before the Second World War. Sadly, there are no markings. However, this is an extremely fine dinner service as well as being quite unusual in both design and colouring. This is a definite must for the discerning collector of miniatures or doll's tea sets. 1960s Boxed Spear's Doll Dressmaking Set 1960s Boxed Spear's Doll Dressmaking Set(Reference #4-5-73)
This Spear's Flotti Instant Dressmaking Set dates from the late 1960s when the manufacturer had clearly decided that the days of trying to teach little girls to sew were over. Much better to gratify their dressmaking instincts immediately with clothes that could be cut out and glued together with much less skill and effort. The set comprises a fully jointed 8.5" vinyl doll with synthetic wig, socks and shoes, made in Hong Kong, and a variety of cotton clothes in partially cut, and cut and glued condition. The partially cut clothes comprise the blue checked dress and the red sailor suit shown on the box lid (probably both incomplete). The cut and glued clothes comprise the three other dresses shown on the lid (red and white polka dot, red and green smock, blue and red dress), the red and yellow top and skirt set, and the yellow top that goes with the green trousers (these are missing). The glue has spread over the years, leaving some marking on the clothes. The doll is in attractive condition, but does suffer from some areas of fading to the head, arms and legs. The box (8.5" x 12.5") is complete and intact, but does suffer from some scuffing. This is an interesting example of a doll dressmaking toy that would enhance any collection of such items. (TR) US$20.00

1900s Pair of Doll's Socks(Reference #9-12-04d)
These doll's socks are in excellent condition and are presented stretched over cardboard inners secured with brown tape at the top and then inserted in a paper-backed bag. It is not clear whether the packaging is original or not, but the socks and it appear to have been together for some time. The socks measure 3" from toe to heel, and 4" from heel to top of the leg. They are made of cotton and do not suffer from any defects. They would make a welcome addition to the wardrobe of any bare-footed doll of the appropriate size. (25 J) US$24.00

1930s Glass Doll's Tea Set 1930s Glass Doll's Tea Set(Reference #4-6-107)
Probably made in England in the 1930s, this tea set is made of ridged green glass and comprises a teapot with separate lid (3.5" tall), milk jug, sugar bowl, and three cups and saucers. The set is extremely attractively moulded and is in very acceptable condition. The only slight defects to report are a small chip to the rim of one saucer, and some chipping and a hairline crack to the teapot (just by the side of the handle). However, the set is still in eminently displayable condition and it would make an attractive addition to any collection of doll's china. (WR) US$20.00

1980 Strawberry Shortcake Berry Outfits (2)(Reference #9-12-04e)
These two Strawberry Shortcake Berry Wear outfits date from 1980 and are old shop stock. They are therefore still contained in their original packaging. Each cardboard backing card measures 9" x 12". The only slight defects to report are the loss of three shoes (one to one set; two to the other), and slight tearing and cardboard damage to the backing sheets. Nevertheless, these outfits would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Strawberry Shortcake items. (WR) US$20.00
