Pre-1926 English Boxed Nickel Meccano Nos 2 and 2a Sets(Reference #02-10-13m)
This selection comprises two pre-1926 boxed nickel Meccano sets (2 and 2a) which together make up into a no 3 set. Both are still contained in their original box and are virtually complete. The no 2 set is only missing one hank of green cord. The set has clearly been used and some of the parts reflect this as they have age-related wear. However, they are still eminently useable. The interior of the box has been re-lined with green paper, and the bottom of the box is in good shape. The label on the lid is almost completely intact, only missing one small corner section, and it features the most delightful graphics of a boy working a Meccano crane. The lid lacks one of its side sections, and the other three are distressed. The no 2a set lacks both pawls and one perforated flanged plate (3.5" x 2.5"). The contents and the box are in a very similar condition to those of the other set. If you have a passion for vintage Meccano, then this selection is likely to be of interest.

Post-war Boxed Spanish Export Meccano Set No 4 Post-war Boxed Spanish Export Meccano Set No 4(Reference #0-1-356)
This Spanish export Meccano set dates from the early post-war period (1950) and is still contained in the original box, together with a Spanish instruction book for the set. It is complete apart from four pieces: 189 flexible plate 140 x 38mm, 191 flexible plate 115 x 60mm, and two 199 curved plates U section. The red and green pieces are in good, but slightly playworn, condition. The instruction book is complete, but suffers from small holes to the front and back covers, as well as minor tearing and staining. The box is complete and intact, with paper tape to the edges, broken corners, slight staining and scuffing, and a small area of broken surface to the lid. However, it is in very acceptable condition for its age. The yellow insert card has been sympathetically replaced; please note that the individual pieces are not strung to the card and will be shipped wrapped up in appropriate bundles.

1950s English Boxed Meccano Set No 2(Reference #3-3-168)
This 1950 Meccano set is still contained in its original box, together with an instruction book for the set. The red and green pieces are in very acceptable condition for their age. The set is complete. The hank of cord has faded to yellow from green in some sections, three pieces (199 and 200) are bent and misshapen where they have been straightened out and bent again, and most of the paper label is missing from the nuts and bolts tin. The pages of the instruction book are loose, and the contents list of the sets is missing from the back. The book also suffers from creasing and minor tearing. The yellow insert card has been sympathetically replaced; please note that the individual pieces are not strung to the card and will be shipped wrapped up in appropriate bundles. The box is complete and intact, but does suffer from minor creasing, a torn corner, denting and marking. Overall, though, the set is in eminently playable - and displayable - condition. 1950s Tubs of Tinkertoys (2) 1950s Tubs of Tinkertoys (2)(Reference #4-3-162)
This selection comprises two tubs of Tinkertoys. The larger one is a special Tinkertoy set; this is housed in a tub that stands 12.5" high and is complete with both its direction and tricks sheet. Having checked the contents against the first of these, we can report that, although the set is substantially complete, there are a few pieces missing. These are piece L (all four missing), H (all eight missing), U (two of four missing) and BG (1 of 2 missing). However, to make up for these losses, there are some extra pieces. These are four extra spools, 16 extra no 1 rods, and one rod that is longer than the number 5 illustrated on the sheet. Apart from some slight damage to the top of a few of the rods, all the pieces are in good condition. The second set (no 116) would appear to be of a later date as it includes some plastic parts as well as some coloured rods. This set lacks its direction sheet so it has not been possible to check the contents accurately. The tub states that it has 60 parts; it actually contains 90. There is no significant damage to report. These two tubs originally formed part of a large collection of American toys; they are now hoping to be repatriated. (WR) US$36.00

1970s UK Boxed Meccano W/U Motor(Reference #9-12-05c)
This Meccano Magic Clockwork Motor is still contained in its original box and is in unused condition. The motor is in full working order, but is missing a key, driving bands, and a pulley boss. The box is complete, but crushed and creased, and comes with its original Meccano guarantee sheet. As it says on the box, 'brings real action to your models'. (WR) US$20.00

1960s German Boxed Wooden Architectural Bricks 1960s German Boxed Wooden Architectural Bricks(Reference #01-12-05n)
This charming little set of wooden architectural bricks probably dates from 1960s Germany. The box measures 4.5" square and contains 34 wooden bricks of various shapes, sizes, and colours. The bricks are in excellent condition; the box lid lacks all four edges and suffers from scuffing, marking, and minor paper loss. However, if architectural bricks are your passion, then don't miss this opportunity to acquire this delightful miniature set. (WR) US$20.00

Vintage Meccano W/U Motors (2)(Reference #9-9-84a)
Wind-up motors were first introduced into the Meccano range in 1912. I have not been able to date either of the two items in this selection. One is a number 1 clockwork motor (reversing), complete in its original box (3.5" x 5.25") with instructions and guarantee. It is in full working order (but please note that a key is not supplied). There are no defects to the motor; the instructions suffer from rust staining, and the box from tearing and scuffing. The other motor also works, but again no key is supplied. This one is larger and later than the boxed example, and is not in such good condition as it suffers from significant paint loss. It was originally red in colour. If you'd like to bring your Meccano models to life, then these two motors are for you. (WR) US$36.00

1930s Boxed German Electric Construction Set 1930s Boxed German Electric Construction Set(Reference #02-3-58)
Made by BECO of Germany in the 1930s, this boxed electrical construction set has clearly never been played with as it is still strung in its original box (11.5" x 7.5") and has its eight-page instruction book. It must have been made for export to Italy as all the instructions are in Italian. The set contains 13 components ranging from green and red bulbs, electrical flex, and a two- and three-way switch through to ornamental bulb holders suitable for a doll's house, and a miniature plug and socket. There is absolutely no damage to report to the components, but the box is in rather a sorry state. Made of cheap cardboard, it has dried out over the years and is now very brittle with the result that it suffers from tearing and detached edges. Mercifully, though, the label - depicting a very Germanic-looking boy discovering the delights of electricity - is completely intact. If you're a collector of electrical toys, then this is the item to light up your life. (WR) US$50.00
