| | | | 1960s English Brimtoy Plastic W/U Morris Minor 1000(Reference #06-5-11mm) This 3.5" long plastic and wind-up saloon is a very good representation of that most beloved of British cars, the Morris Minor 1000. The toy is in absolutely excellent original condition and is the version with the towing hook. It has a fully operational wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided). If you're a collector either of Morris 100s or of plastic automotive models, then this could be just the item for you. (#) US$84.00

| 1960s Boxed Diecast Friction Cadillac Convertible(Reference #06-2-34) Lincoln made this unusual large-scale (7.5" long) diecast and friction-powered Cadillac convertible in Hong Kong in the 1960s. The car has a plastic interior and steering wheel, and the friction motor still functions. The Cadillac is in very good condition, as it is old shop stock. The only slight defect to report is that the back bumper (fender) is missing. However, this does not notice when the model is displayed from the side. The car is complete with its original window-style box, which is complete and intact, although the cellophane is slightly torn, and the cardboard suffers from minor scuffing to the edges. If you're a Cadillac fan, though, this could be just the item for you. (#) US$36.00

| | 1960s West German Tin Pushalong Auto-Union Racer(Reference #5-0-40a) Marked MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY, this attractive small (2.75" long) printed tinplate racing car is a representation of the famous Auto-Union racer. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, it dominated racing in the 1930s and set records that stood for decades. This example is an absolutely charming toy, but it does suffer from scuffing and minor scratching to the top. (*) US$20.00

| 1930s French Celluloid Delahaye-Style Saloon(Reference #01-6-53) Made in France in the 1930s, the styling of this streamlined saloon clearly owes something to the famous Delahaye vehicles of the period. Measuring 7" long, the car is an absolute delight with very fine detailing and is in good condition. There are no dents to the celluloid, but there is one small crack to the front of the right-hand side where the base curves round and up. However, this is not that noticeable and the saloon would still display very well from the other side. The car still has a wind-up motor, but this no longer functions and is probably not reparable as the base is also made of celluloid and it would be very difficult to remove this without causing significant damage. However, this is an appealing vehicle that would enhance any collection of toy cars. (#) US$40.00

| | 1965 English Tri-ang Magicar Ferrari Slot Car (No 504)(Reference #01-11-38c) Made by Tri-ang of England and dating from 1965, this red Magicar Ferrari was issued as no 504. Interestingly, the car body is marked MAGICAR SPOT-ON MODELS, NORTHERN IRELAND, and is the same size and scale (1:42) as the Spot-On diecast model of the same car. The Ferrari measures 5" long and is complete with its motorised power chassis, although this is not currently working, possibly because of dust in the motor. The car is complete and intact, but does suffer from cracking and marking to the front windscreen. However, given that the lowest guide price is US$160, this model is a snip at a mere US$50. (WR) US$56.00

| 1960s Hong Kong Plastic Friction Talbot-Lago Racing Car(Reference #0-1-247) Made in Hong Kong in the 1960s, this attractively moulded green plastic racing car is loosely based on a Talbot-Lago of the period. It measures 5" long and has a fully functioning friction motor. Both no 7 racing decals are complete and intact, and the plastic driver is still in his seat, making it in overall very good condition. If racing cars of the 1950s and '60s are your passion, then this could be just the item for you. (#) US$24.00

| | Late 1940s US Zone German Gama Tin W/U Buick(Reference #03-9-47)
Made by Gama (Georg Adam Mangold) under licence from Schuco in the US zone of Germany, this 6" tinplate and wind-up Buick saloon dates from the late 1940s. It is marked SHUCO, GAMA, and MADE IN US ZONE GERMANY on the base. The Buick also has 100 on the base; this indicates that it is an early version of the Gama 100 Buick which Gama made and marketed in its own right from 1950 to 1956. When they were made, Gama toys were always in the upper retail price bracket because of their quality, and the quality shines through in this Buick. It has a fully functioning wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided), a stop-start lever, and a fifth non-fall wheel. The car is in very good condition for its age: it just has minor print loss to two corners of the chassis. It would make a stunning addition to any collection of Buick toys.

| Post-war English Minic Tin W/U 17M Vauxhall Tourer(Reference #04-5-113) Tri-ang Toys (Lines Brothers) of England made this 17M Vauxhall tourer as part of its Minic range of vehicles in the post-war period. The tourer measures almost 5" long, is sturdily made of tinplate, and is equipped with wooden seats and a fully functioning wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not supplied). The car is in very good condition overall: the only slight defects to report are two small areas of print loss to one of the mudguards, slight scuffing to the hood, and the inevitable age-related marking to the untreated areas of the tinplate (windshield, headlamps, radiator). This is a very attractive example of a Minic toy that should gladden the heart of any serious collector of such vehicles. (J) US$150.00

| | 1950s Italian Ingap Plastic Jaguar/Mercedes(Reference #03-1-02aa) Both these small-scale plastic cars were made in Italy in the 1950s, and measure just 2.5 inches long. They are in very good original condition, and are thought to represent a Jaguar and Mercedes of the period. Each vehicle is marked on the underside INGAP and MADE IN ITALY, and the Jaguar is numbered 2, and the Mercedes 10. If you collect either Ingap or Italian toys generally, then these charming little items may appeal. (WR) US$24.00

| 1964 Plastic American Open Tourer(Reference #6-6-412) Apart from a series of numbers on the under-carriage, this attractively moulded plastic saloon is completely unmarked, so it is not at all obvious where it was made. Measuring eight and a half inches long, it is exquisitely detailed - from the radiator grille and moulded dashboard and seats, through to the rear lights. It also has 1964 as its front and rear number plate; this is presumably the year in which both the model car and the original on which it was based were first made. Although we do not know which make of car this toy represents, it is clearly a very faithful model. It is a simple pushalong toy that is in full working order. In terms of condition, there is some distortion (of the type to which such plastic toys are prone) to the right-hand rear panel, together with some slight discoloration to the left-hand side of the car. However, the model is complete and intact, and would make an attractive addition to any collection of classic American cars. (WR) US$20.00

| | 1960s Bandai Tin Friction Nash Rambler(Reference #4-6-134) Bandai of Japan made this large-scale (eleven inches long) tin and friction model of a Nash Rambler in the 1960s. In excellent condition, it has a roof rack, opening rear window, and a fully detailed interior including printed dashboard, printed pressed-out seats and luggage space, tin rear view mirror, and plastic steering wheel. It is marked RAMBLER on the underside, on the radiator grille and on the licence plate. In terms of damage, there is very little to report. The litho is still bright and shiny, and just has slight crackelature which may have been in the original print finish. There is also some print loss to all four wheels. The friction mechanism is in full working order. This is an absolutely splendid model that would grace any collection of Nash Rambler memorabilia. (#) US$200.00

| 1985 W German Schuco Boxed Opel Doctor's Car(Reference #03-4-47) Schuco made a limited edition range of replicas of their famous 'Oldtimer' series in the 1980s, issuing a different model every year between 1981 and 1985. The Opel Doctor's Car of 1909 was the choice for 1985, and what a superior vehicle it is. It measures 7" long, and is made entirely of tinplate and metal, except for the plastic seats, just like the originals. Both the car and box are in mint condition, even the key is still contained in its bag. A full colour leaflet showing the other cars in the range is included, together with an instruction booklet. The Opel is in full working order, although the automatic hood operation is a bit sticky, and needs patience to get it working. If you didn't buy the whole set when they came out, then here's a chance to acquire one now. (#) US$140.00

| | 1982 W German Schuco Boxed Model T Ford 1917(Reference # 03-4-48) Schuco made a limited edition range of replicas of their famous 'Oldtimer' series in the 1980s, issuing a different model every year between 1981 and 1985. The 1917 Model T Ford Coupe was the choice for 1982, and what a superb vehicle it is. It measures 6.5" long, and is made entirely of tinplate and metal, just like the originals. Both the car and box are in mint condition, even the key is still sealed in its bag. A full colour leaflet showing the other cars in the range is included, together with an instruction booklet. The Ford Model T is in full working order. If you didn't buy the whole set when they came out, then here's a chance to acquire one now. (#) US$158.00

| 1930s Tin W/U Bugatti Type 32 'Tank' Racing Car(Reference #02-5-10) Made in France in the 1930s, this 7" long racer is clearly a representation of Bugatti's famous Type 32 racing car, built in 1923. Swiftly dubbed the 'Tank' because its shape was deemed to be reminiscent of that military vehicle, the car took part in the Grand Prix in France that year. Made of heavy-duty spray-painted tinplate, the car is still complete with its driver's head; this is usually missing. It is also in full working order, being equipped with a strong wind-up motor (but please note that a key is not provided). The toy is in very acceptable condition for its vintage, but does suffer from some surface scratching and paint loss. It is also possible that the rear wheels may have been replaced at some stage in the car's life but, as these do not show very much when the car is on display and do not affect the running, this is hardly serious. | | 1930s Celluloid Citroen Rosalie-Style Racer(Reference #01-6-10) Made in France in the pre-war period, this very attractive celluloid racer is loosely based on the famous Citroen Rosalie record-breaker of the time. Measuring 3" long and made of blue celluloid, it has the most superb styling that is picked out in black and silver. Just take a look at the styling of the radiator grille. The racer has a particularly attractive moulded driver, picked out in black and white as he snuggles down in his cockpit. The car is complete with all four wheels and is in very good condition - without any dents or splits to the celluloid. This diminutive racer would make an extremely handsome addition to any collection of celluloid vehicles or Citroen-related memorabilia. (25 #) US$38.00
